Sureclean has been presented with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) Award for Excellence in Environmental Sustainability and the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) Award for Excellence in People Development at the 2015 Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) Business Excellence Awards.

The winners were announced at a prestigious black tie ceremony on Friday (11th September), which was held at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness. The annual SCDI Awards are the highlight of the Highland business calendar and showcases the region’s top businesses.

Sureclean was recognised by SEPA in the Environmental Sustainability category for its commitment to having an environmentally sustainable workplace and their role in contributing towards a “Zero Waste Scotland” along with their investment in renewable technologies at all of their facilities.

The Alness and Aberdeenshire based company was also recognised by UHI for Excellence in People Development for continuous development of its people and its investment into a range of training initiatives.  Sureclean understands the importance of engaging employees and providing opportunities to develop their skills.

Laura Beales, Group HSSEQ Manager, said: “We are extremely proud to be named as the winners of the ‘SEPA Environmental Sustainability’ and ‘UHI People Development’ categories.   “We have been working hard over the past few years to become a carbon neutral company and invest in environmental sustainable technologies across our business. We recognise that not only can we reduce our impact on the environment but that we can also reduce costs for both ourselves and our clients.

“We also recognise the importance of our people to the success of the Company. Despite challenging economic times within the oil and gas industry we continue to invest in our people to nurture a culture of innovation and continuous professional development.  We owe the credit of both of these awards to our enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking workforce.”
